The guides on this site are the polished stuff — checklists and frameworks I use with clients, written carefully enough to hand to a stranger. This blog is the other drawer: opinions, observations from the field, and the occasional rant about how technology gets bought and sold.

Twenty-five-plus years in and around small-business IT leaves you with a lot of accumulated opinions. Some of them are useful. Most of them don’t fit in a tidy seven-point guide — they’re reactions to things I see in the wild: a licensing change that’s about to bite people, a vendor practice that deserves daylight, an AI claim that needs a decoder ring, something I fixed this week that surprised me.

So the deal is: the guides stay evergreen and careful, and this space gets to be current and opinionated. Posts are dated because takes age — what’s true about a platform in 2026 may be wrong in 2028, and I’d rather you know when I said it.

No schedule, no content calendar, no SEO strategy driving the topics. If that sounds disorganized — it is, on purpose. The organized version of me is available by the hour.
