The short version: I don't sell your data, I don't share it with anyone who isn't directly helping me run this business, and no analytics or advertising cookie loads on this site unless you click Accept.

This policy covers lacymoore.com, operated by Lacy Moore, an independent IT advisor in Houston, TX. Questions about any of it go tohello@lacymoore.com.

What I collect

Information you give me

If you fill out the contact form, download a guide, or complete the IT Decision Scorecard, I receive what you typed — typically your name, email address, and whatever context you chose to share (including your scorecard answers, if you took it). This goes into my own customer records system, which runs on a server I control at crm.lacymoore.com. It is not sold, rented, or handed to a data broker.

I use it to reply to you and to follow up if I think I can genuinely help. That's it.

Information collected automatically

Like nearly every website, my web server keeps standard access logs — IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time. These are used to keep the site running and secure, and are not used to build a profile of you.

Cookies, analytics, and advertising

Nothing third-party loads until you opt in. On your first visit, no request is made to Google, Microsoft, or any advertising network. The tag scripts are not placed on the page at all. If you click Decline, or simply never choose, they stay off permanently.

If you click Accept, these load:

These set cookies and share information — including your IP address and pages viewed — with Google and Microsoft, who process it under their own privacy policies. When they are active, I use Google's Consent Mode to pass along the fact that you consented.

I do not use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel. It was removed from this site on August 26, 2026 and is not coming back.

I do not use session recording or heatmaps. Nothing on this site records your mouse movements, keystrokes, or screen. It never has.

Changing your mind

Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page to be asked again and switch your answer. Declining stops future collection; to remove data already collected, email me and I'll put in the deletion request.

Global Privacy Control

If your browser or extension sends aGlobal Privacy Controlsignal, this site treats it as a standing opt-out. You won't be shown the consent banner and no analytics or advertising tag will load, regardless of any earlier choice.

Booking a call

My scheduling page uses Calendly. Because Calendly is the booking tool you came there to use, it loads without a separate consent prompt — but only on the booking page. When you schedule, Calendly collects your name, email, and the details you enter, underCalendly's privacy policy.

Who else sees your information

Only the vendors that make this business function: my email provider, my customer records system, Calendly, and — if and only if you consented — Google and Microsoft for the analytics and advertising described above.

I do not sell your personal data, and I never have. If you accept advertising cookies, that sharing with Google and Microsoft may count as "targeted advertising" or a "sale" under some state privacy laws — which is exactly why it is off by default and entirely your call.

I may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the security of the site.

Your rights

Several states — including Texas, under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, and California — give residents rights over their personal data. Rather than making you prove where you live, I extend these to everyone who asks:

Email hello@lacymoore.com and I'll handle it within 45 days. There's no form and no fee — it's one person reading his own email. If you're unhappy with how I handled a request, you can appeal by replying, and you may contact the Texas Attorney General's office.

How long I keep things

Inquiries and client records are kept while there's an active or realistic working relationship, and for as long afterward as I need them for tax, contract, and professional records — then they're deleted. Server logs roll off automatically. Analytics data is retained on Google's and Microsoft's standard schedules.

Children

This is a business-to-business site. It isn't directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

If I change what I collect or who I share it with, I'll update this page and move the effective date at the top. Material changes to tracking will re-prompt you for consent.
