How I work
I don’t hand you a proposal to buy something. I figure out what you actually need, quote it honestly, and do the work — with deliverables written for you, not for technicians.
A free 30-minute conversation — no pitch, straight answers. I learn what’s driving the decision or project, and whether an assessment, a scoped project, or an ongoing arrangement is the right first move.
I tell you what I’d do, how long it should take, and what it costs — a fixed price in writing where the scope is clear, or my hourly rate where it isn’t. No surprises, no scope creep.
For most engagements I start with a quick, independent read of your environment, then hand you a prioritized plan — what to do, in what order, and why — written for a non-technical owner.
I do the actual work — the migration, the network, the phone system, the platform decision — or oversee your vendors to a clean finish. You get the person who advised it, owning the outcome.
If it’s useful, I stay on as your fractional CIO — keeping the roadmap current, managing vendors and budget, and giving you plain-language reporting — so the next decision is already handled.
A note on billing
Hourly work is $200/hr, billed honestly for time spent. Hour blocks can be pre-purchased for a project. For defined projects I’ll give you a fixed price in writing up front. I don’t resell anything and take no commissions — you’re paying for advice and work, nothing else.
